Student Deferral and Refund Request
How do I get my refund?
- Your refund notification will be sent to your preferred email address that you submit on the request form; however, you will need to log into PayMyTuition through your myTRU account to retrieve your one-time passcode. For added convenience, you can set up email forwarding to your personal email account.

- If you need help accessing your @mytru.ca email, please contact IT Services at 1-888-852-8533.
Refund for campus-based students through PayMyTuition
- Credit card - if the original method of payment was a credit card and the transaction occured within 90 days, the refund will be processed to that credit card. It may take up to five (5) business days for the funds to appear on your credit card statement.
- Interac e-Transfer - once processed, you will receive an automated email and will have to log into the PayMyTuition portal to retrieve your one-time pass code
- International student refunds - Further instructions requesting currency, banking and beneficiary information will be emailed within five (5) business days after TRU has finalized processing your refunds. Once those details are confirmed, the funds can be deposited directly into your international bank account.
Open Learning refunds are processed as credit card refunds where possible. Once your refund is processed, it may take up to five (5) business days for funds to appear on your credit card statement.
